Al Gore has served as Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. The notion of his presidency faded when he decided not to run for president in 2008. His decision was surprising for many across the United States as the former vice president was famous for his work in climate change activism.

Some people believe that Gore should run for president in 2016. But Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, former United States Secretary of State, has put Gore back on the voters’ mind. Some experts believe that Clinton’s weaknesses could prompt Gore to think about a comeback. Ezra Klein, American blogger and liberal columnist, is the latest who think Gore should consider a campaign.

According to Klein, Gore has the ability to get attention of the voters. Klein said that if Gore really wants to run for president in 2016, then he should. Klein earlier said that Gore is a rich man and a globe-trotting activist. The former Vice President has an unmatched resume than any other potential candidate, as per Klein. There are no indications that Gore has been thinking about presidency.

Klein also said that Gore’s impassioned climate advocacy is the only reason he should come out of political retirement. He further said, “Whereas economic inequality is a serious problem, the climate crisis is an existential one — and Gore is uniquely positioned to address it”.

Bill McKibben, founder of the climate action group 350.org, said that Gore’s work on climate change is the most successful second act of any political life in the history of the United States. Gore has been out of office for more than a decade, but he never left the climate fight.
