You can get $10 if you have been purchasing Red Bull Since 2002

Austrian energy drink maker Red Bull GmbH settled two lawsuits that were filed against the company by customers for deceiving them by advertising the statement "Red Bull gives you wings".

The customers argued that they were largely misled by the company's claims about the benefits of drinking Red Bull. They stated that the company's advertised that on consuming the drink they will have "increased performance," "improved concentration" and "reaction speed" all these claims are false.

In the settlement, the company has agreed to pay $13 million to United States customers. According to legal filings, this particular settlement was reached due to a number of factors, including the distractions along with the cost of litigation.

The terms of this settlement state that all the customers who purchased Red Bull products between January 1, 2002 and October 3, 2014 are eligible to receive either a cash payment ($10) or $15 worth of Red Bull products. Any customer wishing to receive a settlement payment from Red Bull can get so by submitting a claim before March 2, 2015. Their payment will come within 150 days of the settlement's final approval.

The court will be holding a hearing on May 1, 2015 to decide whether the settlement will be approved or not. Only after this verdict is out the claim payments of the customers will be distributed.

The legal notice announcing the settlement stated, "Red Bull denies any wrongdoing or liability and while Red Bull believes that its marketing and labeling have always been entirely truthful and accurate, it confirms that all future claims about the functional benefits of its products will be medically and/or scientifically supported".
