Austin will have Apple’s second-largest campus

It has been reported that Apple’s second-largest campus is under construction in the Capitol City. Alongside a winding road off Research Boulevard in Northwest Austin, the tech company has quietly changed 38 acres of wooded land into its second-largest operation in the world.

The California-based technology giant will complete the construction of the campus in 2016. After completion, the campus will have seven limestone-and-glass office buildings with a combined 1.1 million square feet of space with restaurants, smoothie and coffee bars along with a full-scale gym with two saunas and a spa-like wellness center with services including medical, dental and eye care, acupuncture and massage.

Till now, 4 buildings in the campus have opened, and once the site’s construction is finalized, it will employ thousands of maintenance workers, who could get at an average wage of $54,000 annually.

Apple to obtain $35 million in tax incentives from the town, county and state for its Austin enlargement, and has made a promise to create 3, 600 new jobs while retaining at the least 3, 100 present jobs.

Mark McClain, Business leaders of Austin computer software brewer SailPoint, said, “When Apple places its label of agreement on Austin of this nature, mankind notice. Some individuals will come to work for Apple and get the entrepreneurial bug and go begin an organization”. Others will ultimately move to area’s new or established tech companies that are in need of their specific type of expertise.
