Study shows Objects Separated by Great Distance can Affect Each other’s Behavior

Famous theoretical physicist Albert Einstein may have contributed many important equations to science, but he was not right all the time. A team of Dutch researchers have claimed that two particles can affect each other even when they are separated by a huge distance, which means Einstein was wrong.

A team of researchers from Netherlands claimed they have found that objects can affect each other even when they are separated by great distances. The study by the Dutch researchers was conducted at the Delft University of Technology.

The study is contrary to Einstein’s theory, but supports John Bell's inequality. While conducting the study published in the journal Nature, the researchers placed some diamonds with one electron in two different locations. The places were 1.3 kilometers apart. The study found that despite the distance, the diamonds had connection with each other.

As per the researchers, they have of Bell's inequality was valid, which stated that the particles are always connected to each other in a manner that they can affect each other even when there is a great distance between them.

Other researchers have applauded the study and said that it could take quantum mechanics to a different level. David Kaiser, researcher from the MIT who was not part of the study, said, “I think this is a beautiful and ingenious experiment and it will help to push the entire field forward. The results will probably not eliminate all the doubts on Bell's inequality”.
