Observer Standing Outside Black Hole Can Recover Information That Enters Into It

Physicists since long have been baffled by the point that what happens to the information when it enters a black hole. Stephen Hawking in 1970s have a theory that black holes emitted particles and simultaneously lost energy, eventually shrinking away to nothing.

But a latest study by physicists at University of Buffalo, published in March, 2015 in the journal Physical Review Letters, showed that information that enters into a black hole is not at all lost.

Instead, the researchers associated with the study stated that there are possibilities that an observer standing outside of a black hole can recover the information about what lies within the interiors of a black hole.

Dejan Stojkovic, associate professor of physics at the University at Buffalo, and his student Anshul Saini, a co-author, stated that according to their work, any information that enters a black hole does not get lost or disappeared.

The information that enters a black hole could include, for example, the characteristics of the object that formed the black hole to begin with, and characteristics of all matter and energy drawn inside.

Stojkovic says his research marks a significant step toward solving the information loss paradox, a problem that has puzzled physicists for almost 40 years.
