Labour Party could be out of Power if Scotland votes to leave

Labour Party, centre-left political party in the United Kingdom, stands ideologically opposed to Alex Salmond, First Minister of Scotland, and his New Secessionists' espoused brand of popular nationalism despite eccentricity. Labour Party's 40 represent constituencies are from north of the border. If the people of Scotland favor independence, the party could be out of power for many years.

Alistair Darling, British Labour Party politician, had been interviewed on a Radio 4's programme. The interview was conducted in a tone of sheer. Darling is expected to be wise and cool head of 'No campaign', a Eurosceptic group's campaign against the UK's adoption of the euro. But during the interview, he was panicky.

The politician was supposed to play a key role in Labour's election campaign. There were complaints about Darling replacing Ed Balls, British Labour Party and Co-operative Party politician, as shadow chancellor. Douglas Alexander, Shadow Foreign Secretary, had gone to north of the border several weeks ago. On the other hand, the party has dispatched Jim Murphy on a speaking tour, '100 Towns in 100 Days'.

The efforts of the party appear to be turning to dust. According to sources, Labour voters are continuously switching their support from 'No' to 'Yes'. Apart from that, there is news of internal splits within the campaign team.
The internal disputes are dropping the burden of safeguarding the party on the shoulder of Ed Miliband, Leader of the Labour Party.

The problems of Scotland are the signs of issues that have caused problems for Labour Party. The party's has never recovered from defeat by the Scottish National Party (SNP) at north of the border. Donors from private sector and the unions have cut funding. Labour Party thought that the threat of independence had been neutralized months ago.
