Tiger Woods Hit Balls from Europe into Asia on Tuesday

Tiger Woods went from Europe to Asia on Tuesday when half of the six-lane Bosphorus Bridge was closed for the top-ranked golfer of the world.

In a publicity stunt for this Turkish Open of the week, Woods stood on a temporary tee and launched drives along the fourth longest suspension bridge of the world. It is about 5,118 feet and is 210 feet over the Bosphorus River.

Woods said, "To be the first golfer to do this was very cool".

About 180,000 vehicles pass over the bridge every day. Woods is the only non-European in the Turkish Open that will be starting from Thursday. The event also included Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson and Padraig Harrington.

Tiger Woods has gone from Europe to Asia with a stunning drive down the Bosphorus Bridge in Turkey.

The Bosphorus Bridge stretches from one-and-a half kilometers and is one of two suspension bridges presently spanning the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul.

It was started in the year 1973 and about 180,000 vehicles pass over it in both directions daily. A tunnel was opened by Turkey last month under the Bosphorus, which is the deepest underwater railway tunnel of its type in the world.

Despite not having won a major tournament since the U. S. Open in the year 2008, the golfer is ranked at first position in the world.
