Ford Europe CEO Calls Authorities to Generate Market Conditions in the Favor of Car Manufacturers

The Ford Europe CEO, Stephan Odell, has raised a widely ranging call to all the European politicians, business leaders, regulators and academics for creating a market condition that will be enabling the manufacturers to prosper at a major level.

The CEO issued a warning that without the help of the people who develop policies, it will be nearly impossible for the European car industry to struggle as the total car sales in Europe have sighted a major fall of 22 percent in last five years.

The CEO discussed the matter and raised alarms about the threats to the car industry in Europe at the Future Manufacturing summit at Cranfield University. He added that the present EU regulations turn an average car two-times more expensive than its genuine cost.

However, Odell has not pointed any of the legislation in a direct manner. He also has not exactly mentioned about any of the factors that are causing a major hike in the prices of the cars. However, his speech included a criticism for the European free trade agreements with South Korea.

He said that Europe should track the proceedings at US as an example to boost up the car market in the European countries.

Odell also re-emphases on the commitment made by Ford to launch more than 15 vehicles in Europe in the upcoming time span of five years.
