A new first-person shooter game was announced by Doom creator John Romero's new studio Night Work Games this week. The new, fully moddable game is called 'Blackroom;' and it is scheduled for launch on Mac and PC in winter 2018.
The newly-announced Blackroom game will come in co-op, one-on-one deathmatch, and free-for-all arena modes. It will offer a ten-hour single player campaign, along with six multiplayer maps.
According to the details shared by Night Work Games studio, the story of Blackroom chiefly pivots around Hoxar Inc.'s Blackroom holographic simulation technology which can be used for a wide range of purposes including entertainment, and military training, among others.
To bring Blackroom to the Mac and PC platforms in 2018, Night Work Games has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the game. The funding target of the Kickstarter for Blackroom is $70,000.
Backers of the Blackroom project on Kickstarter have to pledge $29 to get a digital copy of the game. Backers who pledge more money will be able to get some additional rewards, like physical edition box with the game stored on a thumb drive, as well as an opportunity to assist the developers in the design of a monster, and a two-hour weapon design Skype session with Romero.
