In a Tuesday announcement, Supergiant Games studio’s founder Greg Kasavin said that the studio -- the creator of games like Bastion and Transistor -- has plans underway to launch a new action-RPG in 2017.
According to the announcement, Supergiant Games’ new action game scheduled for release next year will be titled ‘Pyre.’ The game will be launched on two platforms --- PC, and PlayStation 4 (PS4) gaming console.
In announcing the new ‘Pyre’ action-RPG, Kasavin said that the game will basically be a party-based action adventure which will require the gamers to take on the role of a number of “masked wanderers” who can win their freedom only if they survive a combat.
At the start of the game, players will take on the role a character that is on the brink of death in the mystical, but hazardous, land where exiles are making attempts to escape from purgatory. The exiles have to compete among themselves; and the victorious ones are granted absolution of their past transgressions and the right to freedom from being an exile.
‘Pyre’, with its incredible audio-visual atmosphere, will be an extremely intriguing game graphically. Moreover, utilizing an innovative combat and gameplay, ‘Pyre’ essentially unfolds real-time combat, dynamic magic and attacks for the gamers.
