In an announcement made on Monday, tech giant Google has revealed that it presently has tests underway of a new Android app which will enable users to control some primary functions on their device with the help of voice commands.
The new accessibility software which is currently being tested by Google is dubbed ‘Voice Access’; and it is in beta, as of now.
However, with the application period of Voice Access having ended, Google has announced plans to launch it as a free app on the Google Play store at some point of time in the future.
The in-testing Voice Access accessibility app has essentially been designed by Google with the objective of enabling users with disabilities to have a ‘hands free’ control on the core functions of the Android mobile operating system.
According to the details shared by Google in a recent blog post, the Voice Access app for Android will give users the ability to use voice commands for opening apps, scrolling, and selecting items onscreen. The app also incorporates a numeric system, so that users can assign numbers to different tasks, and speak aloud those numbers to have the tasks performed.
