With Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos expected to officially announce a new, top-of-the-line Kindle e-reader -- likely to be dubbed ‘Kindle Oasis’ -- this week, some details of the forthcoming device leaked online on Monday.
The leaked details of Amazon’s new Kindle Oasis e-reader apparently owed their origin to Amazon Japan and Amazon China. The details hint at some cool specifications of the upcoming Kindle device.
One of the most far-fetched indications from the leaked Kindle Oasis details is that the device will boast a rechargeable battery case which would supposedly allow for up to 20 continuous months of standby use. The rechargeable battery case will be affixed to Kindle Oasis with magnets.
Another speculation about the Kindle Oasis e-reader is that the name ‘Oasis’ could possibly refer to a waterproof, or water-resistant, design of Amazon’s new device, to enable users to read by the pool or on a beach without worrying about the device getting damaged due to water.
Furthermore, it is also being speculated that Kindle Oasis -- which has been designed for one-handed use -- will be comparatively much lighter and thinner than the earlier Kindle e-readers; and will boast a noteworthy 60 percent increase in the internal LED display.
