Dell announces new 27-inch Ultra HD 5K monitor

Dell has recently unveiled its UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K monitor.

Though the price of the 27-inch ultra HD 5K monitor has not been officially divulged by Dell, it is expected that the high-resolution desktop monitor will retail for approximately $2,500. The monitor will likely be launched by Dell in time for the Christmas season this year.

The new Dell UltraSharp 27-inch monitor is the world's first screen with a 5120 x 2880 pixel resolution or 218 pixels per inch.

With the screen boasting 14.7 million pixels, the Dell UltraSharp 27-inch monitor has nearly two-fold higher than number of pixels - nearly 8.3 million - as compared to a 4K screen. As such, a lot of data can be moved around; with the new Dell monitor posing a challenge anything other than the most powerful graphics cards.

According to the details shared by Dell, the UltraSharp 27-inch monitor features dual DisplayPort 1.2 sockets with Multi-Stream Transport (MST); two built-in 16W integrated Harmon Kardon speakers; a media card reader, and as many as six USB ports.
