Streaming music service Pandora has a video posted up to YouTube on their ‘Pandora Rebrand’ page, showcasing the service’s new look, including a new logo and new app icon.

The showcasing of the new look by Pandora comes in coincidence with the launch of its upcoming Pandora Plus subscription service in the US. The launch of the ad-free Plus service underscores an evident effort by Pandora to convert millions of its free listeners into paying subscribers.

The new look unveiled by Pandora in the video marks the streaming music service’s attempts to implement a new brand. The design was handled by the company’s own in-house creative team.

The new Pandora logo reverses the earlier all-capitals rendition of the company’s name, by lowercasing all the letters. The new app icon, on the other hand, now has a solid letter ‘P’ and a white background, in place of the standard-text ‘P’on a grey background.

About the changes implemented by Pandora to its logo and app icon, Lisa Sullivan-Cross -- the company’s VP of growth marketing -- said that the company had made “a very subtle change” to its logo and brand identity a couple of years back, and added that the latest change “really reflects the change of the product and declares to everyone that there is something new and different and exciting happening at Pandora.”
