At the 2016 Pebble Beach Concour d'Elegance motoring show on Sunday, Aston Martin introduced its pricey Vanquish Zagato sports coupe in North America; and also announced that it has efforts underway to make a convertible version.

Taking the wraps of the Vanquish Zagato coupe, Aston Martin said that the coupe is largely based on the regular Vanquish Zagato which was launched at Lake Como earlier this year.

According to the details shared by Aston Martin, only 99 units of Vanquish Zagatos – developed in collaboration with Italian design house Zagato – will be built by the company; and only 15 of these units are earmarked for the US. The company also added that it has already sold out the limited units of the coupe, which is priced at a whopping $745,000.

The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato coupe will be equipped with a reworked version of the AM29 6.0-liter V-12 engine, enabling the coupe -- with a long, low hood -- to deliver 592 horsepower (441 kW) instead of 565 horsepower (421 kW). The coupe will take barely 3.7 seconds to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour.

Some of the key attractions of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato coupe include a bespoke rear deck; body panels created from one-piece carbon fiber; intricate bladed rear lights; and a new diffuser perched on the heavily sculpted bumper.
