A new care watchdog lately affirmed that provision of poor care by GP surgeries could lead them to face penalties. Closure is also likely to be faced.
Warnings have been raised by Steve Field that the doctors who are sloppy enough not to stay for long to treat patients would definitively get chastised. A strict regime of checks has also been announced on GP surgeries.
Before the same, Professor Field affirmed that one in every 10 surgeries would be required to show notable progresses. The high care standards offered by a majority of the doctors were acknowledged by the expert.
He said care should instead be provided to patients all seven days in a week. He believed the opening hours of the surgeries were a bit erratic.
Primary care's chief inspector, Field, added that he would not at all dither while announcing closure of any such practices that show failure in offering proper care. Many GP practices many times turn out to be unsafe and offensive for patients.
"While we've got some of the best general practices in the world, it's let down by a small percentage of practices which aren't providing appropriate access or quality of care", stated Professor Field.
