Europe’s power giant, Eon was saved from the German government’s nuclear power egress plans. However, it has been planning to reduce its jobs which will ensure the peril that the energy sector has been going through.
All the power giants like Eon, RWE, EnBW, and a few more have been endangered by the present scenario.
Eon may reduce its workforce by 11,000 which indicate nearly 15% cut in its workforce.
Eon has been initiating many green power projects like the one in London where it has been working along Masdar, an Abu Dhabi-based company. It has even exposed the €382 million (Dh2.02 billion) loss, which it has experienced in the last quarter. The company’s shares dropped by 10% after the declaration of its results and so far, the shares of the company have downgraded by 40% since beginning of this year.
The nuclear egress will result in four of the companies of the country to dispossess nearly €22bn profits they expected by 2022. The companies have been searching for all available alternatives and the cost cut plans have been the resultant of this situation.
The companies will target small power productions instead of larger ones to cope up with the situation and will try inflowing into cooperation contracts and flexible productions.
