IAEA Plans to Hold Talks with Iran on September 27

The International Atomic Energy Agency is looking forward to organize a new round of talks with Iran over the country's nuclear energy program in late September.

The meeting will be held on 27th September in the Austrian capital, Vienna, said a spokesperson for the UN agency on Wednesday.

This will mark the talks as the 11th round of discussions between Iran and IAEA since early last year. May 15th was the last time when both the sides met.

Reza Najaf has been recently appointed as its representative at the UN's nuclear agency. He replaced Ali-Asghar Soltanieh. On the other hand, Herman Nackaerts, the IAEA chief inspector, will also be retiring in September.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed Tehran's willingness to continue talks on Aug 19. He said that the talks must be resumed with the P5+1 group of world powers to find a solution to the West's disagreement with the Republic over its nuclear energy program.

Several rounds of talks have been held by Iran and the P5+1 (United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany) encircling a range of issues. However, the emphasis has always been on Iran's nuclear energy program.

IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano told reporters earlier this year that satellite images have showed asphalt work, soil removal, and possible dismantling of infrastructures at Parchin.
