Bank Austria embroiled in loss scenario

It has been recently revealed that the net profits at the Bank of Austria from the UniCredit area have fallen by 12%. The reason for the same has been said to be the jump in the loan write-downs as the profound lender from Eastern and central Europe reveal that the boom times are gone.

As the net profits were seen dropping to 566 million euros, there has been a rise in the operating profit, of as much as 5.5%.

"The higher provisioning charge in CEE was due to economic developments as recovery is not progressing as rapidly as we hoped, and it also resulted from our conservative risk management ", reveals the Bank Austria in a statement.

They are still hopeful of the fact that the growth in the CEE regions is going to be more than that of Western Europe and signs of rapid growth and development may soon be witnessed.

It has been further been added by Mr. Gianni Franco Papa, the boss of CEE that the efficiency and profitability are the factors that need to be focussed upon right now and that the customer service model interested well for its authenticity and functionality. It remains to be seen how things go from here on.
