Microsoft releases ‘Windows Everywhere’ commercial

The new `Windows Everywhere' commercial released recently by Microsoft highlights one single operating system which works on all Windows-based devices, ranging from smartphones to all-in-one computers.

The 30-secind `Windows Everywhere' commercial begins with one Metro tile for Internet Explorer 10, which is touted as "the first Web browser built for touch." Thereafter, the commercial lists some of the most noteworthy Windows-specific features - including SkyDrive, Skype, and Xbox - which eventually comprise the Start screen on Windows 8 OS.

With the use of touch gestures, the commercial shows the transition from a single live tile to the Start screen; with the same User Interface showing up on a Surface tablet, a Lenovo desktop PC, and finally a yellow Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 handset.

The commercial then comes to a close with the following tagline: "Windows: One Experience. On every device. For everything in your life."

Though the `Windows Everywhere' commercial unfolds the idea that the "new" Windows experience is, by and large, fairly similar across a number of devices reflecting different form factors, the concept is not actually a new one for Microsoft; especially against the backdrop that several new Windows Phone 8 devices - handsets, tablets, convertible laptops, hybrids, and desktops - have steadily been launched by the Windows partners since the OS' October 2012 launch!
