Google announces first official partners for Google Glass applications aimed at businesses

After having announced its `Glass at Work' program in early April, Google said in a Monday announcement that it has picked its first official partners for Google Glass applications targeting business and enterprise customers.

The five certified partners named by Google for convincing businesses to use its futuristic Glass wearable computing device include: APX; Augmedix; CrowdOptic; GuidiGO; and Wearable Intelligence.

These five partners announced by Google will essentially explore how the Google Glass device can help bring about an improvement in productivity in the workplace.

With the five companies announced by Google as official partners for enterprise-specific Glass applications focused on different aspects, APX would use Glass for offering real-time access to data; Augmedix will build a Glass workflow for managing electronic health records; CrowdOptic will work on Glass initiative focused on live broadcast of sports and other events; GuidiGO will tap into Glass to offer interactive museum tours; and Wearable Intelligence will make Glassware for workplace productivity.

About CrowdOptic's partnership with Google for working on Glass initiative, the company's founder and CEO Jon Fisher said that his company has been working with Google for almost a year; and added: "Google Glass has been the subject of a bit of backlash on the consumer side. But what's been woefully under-reported is the widespread adoption and positive experiences on the enterprise side."
