Microsoft focused on new games at the 2014 E3 event

After having had a somewhat disappointing E3 conference last year, Microsoft focused primarily on new games at this year's E3 show. With Microsoft having launched the new-generation iteration of its Xbox gaming console - Xbox One - in November 2013, the company's focus on new titles at the E3 event was largely rooted in the fact it is developing games and acquiring content partners in support of its new Xbox One console.

In an announcement made a few days ahead of the E3 event, Microsoft had revealed that was launching a lower-priced Xbox One without a bundle Kinect sensor. The company said that the Kinect-less Xbox One console will be priced at $399; thereby underscoring a $100 markdown on the cost of the original Xbox One which is priced at $499.

At the 2014 E3, Microsoft announced a new 'Halo' package - called 'Halo: The Master Chief Collection' - which bundles 'Halo 1-4' in one single package for Xbox One. Microsoft also said that games in the collection willrun at 60 frames per second, and will be upgraded to 1080p visuals.

Some of the other Xbox One games which Microsoft announced at E3 included a new 'Crackdown,' 'Scalebound,' 'Forza Horizon 2,''Phantom Dust' and 'Killer Instinct: Season 2.' In addition, the company also showed off 'Halo 5: Guardians' and 'Sunset Overdrive.'
