LinkedIn launches its first standalone ‘Job Search’app for iPhone

In a recent announcement via a blog post, LinkedIn has revealed that it has launched a dedicated 'Job Search' app for the Apple iPhone. The app is essentially aimed at LinkedIn users who use mobile devices to search the social network to look for new jobs.

LinkedIn's newly-announced Job Search app is initially compatible only with the Apple iPhone; and is available for the US users only.

A Reuters report has disclosed that LinkedIn Job Search app for Android will likely be launched later this year; though there is no clear timeline about when Windows Phone and BlackBerry handsets will get the app.

The LinkedIn Job Search app for iPhone is now available for download from the Apple App Store. Users who download the app can log in to it by using their LinkedIn credentials. A 'menu' button placed at the bottom of the app enables the users to search for new jobs, as well as browse recommended jobs and look over the popular job openings.

The app works in such a way that if LinkedIn thinks there is a suitable job offer for the users, it will notify them so that they can instantly apply for the job with a single tap.

Noting that the Job Search app will essentially make the job search process easier for the users, product manager Daniel Ayele said in the blog post. "Everything you do within the app will be completely private and not shared with your network."
