Venus and Moon to Come Very Close 60-90 Minutes before Sunrise

It's good news for sky watchers that the moon and the planet Venus are going to come very close towards each other 60 to 90 minutes before sunrise tomorrow. The moon and Venus will come closest for the month for all sky watchers around the world.

Viewers can look toward the east-northeast horizon for a very thin waning crescent moon, just three days before new phase. The dazzling planet Venus will be situated about 3 degrees above and to the left of this slender lunar sliver.

A view of the famous Pleiades star cluster could be captured with the help of binoculars, but one has to look well before the sunrise and scan about 10 degrees above Venus. Pleiades star cluster is emerging back after being hidden in the glare of the sun for the past month.

Venus is currently rising about five to 10 minutes after the sunrise. But in the weeks to come, the planet will follow the sun through the northernmost part of the ecliptic and across the constellation of Taurus and Gemini. And then, it will begin appearing to rise at or just before the break of dawn.

The same trend will be followed from July 10 through August 4, nearly about two hours before sunrise. After this, Venus will start rising only about 90 minutes before sunrise by mid-August. By the end of September, Venus will be all gone.
