At its Sunday press conference, a day ahead of the official opening of the four-day 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, China-based device manufacturer Huawei Technologies unveiled its latest smartphone - the Ascend P2; which, as per the company's claims, is "the world's fastest smartphone."
Equipped with a 4.7-inch IPS HD in-cell touch screen with second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass and a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, Huawei's 8.4mm Ascend P2 smartphone runs on the Android OS version 4.1 as well as the manufacturer's own Emotion UI 1.5.
Some of the other attractive features making their way to the Huawei Ascend P2 specs list include a 13-megapixel BSI rear camera with HDR; a 1.3-megapixel MP front camera; and a 2420 mAh battery.
According to Huawei, the Ascend P2 handset is capable of using the fourth-generation high speed mobile networks that are being rolled out worldwide; and can achieve top speeds of 150 Mbps - the fastest in the world.
With Huawei asserting that the Ascend P2 handset "downloads HD movies in minutes, and loads online videos, web pages, songs or e-Books in seconds," Huawei Consumer Business Group's CEO Richard Yu said: "Ascend P2 is the perfect combination of elegance and power, and further proof that there's no need to compromise when desiring a perfect smartphone."
