According to a post published to Microsoft’s official blog on Wednesday, the number of devices running the company’s latest Windows version -- the Windows 10 operating system -- has touched 350 million.
The new milestone in the Windows 10 uptake was announced, via the blog post, by Yusuf Mehdi, marketing chief of the Windows and devices group.
Microsoft’s disclosure that Windows 10 OS now powers 350 million devices means that the number of Windows 10 devices has recorded an increase of approximately 50 million since early May, the last time Microsoft had publicized the uptake of Windows 10 OS.
Specifically, in a disclosure related to Windows 10 adoption figures on May 5, Mehdi had said that the number of Windows 10 devices had reached 300 million. With the Wednesday revelation by Mehdi now pegging the number to 350 million, it is apparent that – in the last eight-week period – the number of Windows 10 devices has recorded an increase of 16.7 percent.
In announcing the latest Windows 10 adoption figures, Mehdi said in the blog post: "We'd like to say a special thank you to each of you who have upgraded to Windows 10."
