Playful Corp. to debut Oculus Rift-exclusive game – ‘Lucky’s Tale’ - at E3

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) round the corner next week, game developer Playful Corp. has said in a recent announcement that it is coming up with a new game - dubbed 'Lucky's Tale' - which will be launched exclusively for the Facebook-owned virtual reality (VR) headset Oculus Rift.

According to the announcement made by Playful Corp., which is the new company of Paul Bettner - the co-creator of the hit mobile game Words With Friends, the new Lucky's Tale game for Oculus Rift will be displayed at the forthcoming E3 event next week.

Revealing that the Oculus Rift-exclusive Lucky's Tale game is a third-person platforming adventure, Bettner said that the game is a result of a partnership between Playful Corp. and Oculus VR. The imminent launch of Lucky's Tale makes Playful Corp. the first game developer to officially align with Oculus for developing games exclusively for the VR device.

The Lucky's Tale game is one of the two titles which are presently being developed by Playful. The other title is called Creativerse, which Playful has described as an open-world sandbox game. Creativerse will initially launch on Steam this year, before being released for Oculus Rift.

Meanwhile, against the backdrop of the exclusivity of Lucky's Tale game for the Oculus Rift VR headset, Bettner said: "Virtual reality - I mean truly accurate, comfortable virtual reality - is the most important thing to happen to interactive entertainment in decades."
