Obama and Facebook’s Zuckerberg Promote Entrepreneurship at 7th Global Summit

The three days long 7th Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Stanford University ended on Friday. During the event which was attended by 1,200 entrepreneurs and investors from across the globe of 170 countries, President Obama shared platform with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Though they belong to two different generations but shared their idea about how 'connectivity' through social-media could help in convincing the developing nations to steer clear of fossil fuels in the long run. Fossil fuels contribute to elevated levels of carbon-dioxide in the atmosphere leading to global warming. They are more popular among the less affluent nations due to their less costly and more reliable stance than their green energy counterparts.

Cuba for the first time attended the summit. In 2014 December, the Obama administration announced it would reinstate full diplomatic relations with the nation ending a fifty four year-old trade restriction with the communist Caribbean island nation.

In the conference attended by three hundred investors and more than seven hundred business people Obama reiterated that entrepreneurship is a way to fuel economic growth.

In the same respect, Zuckberg said "To me entrepreneurship is about creating change, not creating companies." He also explained how his company Facebook which now has 1.65 billion active users, was created in his Harvard college dorm room.
