Scientists are Confused with Existence of Life on Earth during Archean

According to new research by the scientists, there seems to be some evidence of the existence of life on Earth, when the sun was far away to shower its heat billions of years back.

Scientists have declared a theory, which describe some reasons for the surface of the Earth to be warm, which is responsible for the existence of life on Earth.

The life on Earth was evolved during the Archean, i. e. about 3.8 and 2.4 billion years ago.

Dr. Ray Burgess, from Manchester's School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, said that the solar energy at the time of Archean was 25% less than the current heat.

He said that the Earth would have been covered with the glaciers, if we compare the greenhouse gas composition of the atmosphere at that time with the current levels.

Bernard Marty, Professor from the CRPG-CNRS University of Lorraine, said that carbon dioxide concentrations in the Earth's atmosphere would have been 1,000 times more than the current value in order to compensate the effect of weaker sunlight.

Earlier, the scientists believed the green house effect to be held responsible for making the Earth warm, but the new theory proves it to be contradictory.

It states that though, the greenhouse levels were higher than that of today, still they were not as high to make the Earth ice-free.
