In a shocking revelation, it has been found that Spanish police has seized $36.5m worth property belonging to Hosni Mubarak, who is the ex- Egyptian president. Spain's interior ministry has been found to have sealed huge amount of assets, which might have come from corruption and crime.
Some of the many things that have been sealed are two houses which are in La Moraleja and financial products found in three banks. Not only this, the police has also sealed seven massive properties as well as expensive vehicles.
"The assets could be the proceeds of crimes such as the embezzlement of public funds, corruption or the illegal enrichment committed during his mandate", said the police.
Egypt has urged internationally that the authorities concerned in Europe should let them know about properties being owned by Mubarak and by his associates. Taking the request seriously, Switzerland Government has announced that they have sealed Mubarak assets, which are up to $441m.
It was in 2011 when Mubarak was forced out of the nation due to uprising. He has ruled Egypt for 30 years and was later imprisoned for life for having his role in a number of deaths.
For now, he is admitted in military hospital, where he has been getting treated for a number of health complications.
