Google reportedly preparing to launch second-generation Pixel phones on October 5

Tech giant Google is preparing to unveil the second-generation of the Pixel smartphone in early October of this year, emerging reports suggested. The second generation of the devices dubbed the Pixel XL will reportedly be unveiled on 5th of October 2017, a year and a day after the first generation of the devices was launched.

The information was leaked by prolific leaker and so-called spoiler of well-kept secrets Evan Blass, who also leaked information of the processor specifications for the new devices.

Google is not only repeating its original Pixel strategy with the launch date but also apparently repeating the same move toward the SOC.

The 2016 Pixel phones came equipped with a Snapdragon 821 processor that was slightly updated from the Snapdragon 820 chip. The next Pixel phones will reportedly be built around a Snapdragon 836 that will be slightly better than the existing Snapdragon 835-equipped flagship phone.
