Sofia Hosts Prominent Banking Officials from Europe
Bulgarian Development Bank is hosting the General Assembly of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) in Sofia to discuss various important issues relating to banking sector. Banking officials from major banks in Europe will discuss issues and opportunities presented by the ‘Junker Plan’. Banking sector services and credit growth are important for development of economy and many European regions need better credit services for future growth.
The Bulgarian Development Bank joined EAPB in 2005 and year 2017 marks the first time when the Bulgarian Development Bank will host the General Assembly. The meeting is held twice a year and provides important suggestions for policy decisions in European countries.
The Junker Plan, also named as The European Commission’s Investment Plan for Europe (EC IPE), is an ambitious infrastructure investment programme first announced by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. The plan was announced in November 2014 and has provided investment for many important projects.
