UK Space Agency Announces Great British Space Dinner Winners

The winners of the competition to find a special menu for Britain's Tim Peake, who will fly to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2015, have been announced by the UK Space Agency.

The Great British Space Dinner contest saw many schoolchildren participating in the competition to help Peake take along some unique dishes with him for his stint on the ISS next year.

Primary and secondary school pupils were tasked to create a British-inspired meal. Apart from good taste, other factors that counted were good nutritional principles and problems of handling and preserving food in space.

Former Army Major Tim and world-renowned chef Heston Blumenthal chose the winning menus. They will work with the designers to work with him and use their ideas inreal space food.

Tim said that he is incredibly impressed with the creative and mouth-watering entries the competition organizers received from children all over the UK. He is very excited to eat a Great British Space Dinner on board the International Space Station.

Mr. Blumenthal added: "This has been such an amazing experience. The students are quite possibly the next great chefs or scientists of tomorrow".

He added that he is really getting impatient to work with them in the Experimental Kitchen and see their final dishes. The upcoming space mission is all set to bring a treat for Tim.
