Google, the world's biggest Internet firm, has confirmed that it has brought voice calling service back to Hangouts.
The company's senior software engineer Alex Wiesen wrote in a blog post that the company brought the service back as customers had badly been missing the ability to make voice calls.
In the blog post, Wiesen wrote, "For those of you who have taken the plunge and are using desktop Hangouts in Gmail, Google+ and the Chrome extension, we've heard loud and clear that you miss the ability to make calls from Gmail, so today, we're happy to announce it's back."
The engineer also claimed that the new voice calling service is better than the previously available service.
The new service allows users to make voice calls to their friends and relatives in the United States and Canada free of charge, prices for international calls are fairly low.
The company has also provided an international rate calculator to enable users to international rates.
Many users currently may not be seeing a phone symbol in Gmail or `Call a phone' menu feature in Google+ or the Chrome extension, as the company has not completed with the rolling out process, and it may take couple of days to complete.
