Confirming the rumors that LG Electronics is planning to strip away the `Optimus' moniker from the successor to its Optimus G handset, LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company's President and CEO Dr. Jong-seok Park has revealed that `Optimus' is being ditched from the company's premium branding, with the result that the eventual series of "premium" handsets will fall under the `G' branding.
