According to researchers from Spain and Austria, quantum computing can be helpful in creating powerful computer and creative robots. The robots created with quantum computing could be more creative and smarter than traditional ones. The researchers stated that tools of quantum computing make robots learn and respond faster to stimuli around them.
The algorithms and techniques of Quantum mechanics, a branch of physics that deals with physical phenomena at nanoscopic scales, are secure and much quicker in transferring data. A new study conducted by the researchers of University of Innsbruck in Austria and Complutense University of Madrid in Spain has found that Quantum mechanics tools can be used in making robots and automatons that use artificial intelligence (AI).
The study demonstrated that quantum machines can respond the fastest to the environment surrounding them. According to the researcher, the machines made by using Quantum mechanics tools adapt to the situation where the traditional machines act slower.
Complutense University of Madrid's two researchers, Davide Paparo and Miguel A. Martín-Delgado, said that in the situation where classic robot couldn't work well, a quantum robot adapts itself and provides the best and fastest results.
The study has been focused on using quantum computing to accelerate ahead with machine learning, which is useful in creating accurate predictions.
According to Martín-Delgado, conventional computers are not good in building a model. This is where the quantum computing comes into play.
Martín-Delgado said, "The advances it brings are not only quantitative in terms of greater speed, but also qualitative: adapting better to environments where the classic agent does not survive. This means that quantum robots are more creative".
The researchers said that the study is a step forward towards the most determined aim of AI.
