Telekom Austria issues strong guidance and marginal decline in net profit
Telekom Austria reported 2.6 percent decline in net profit for the quarter, mainly due to currency effects. The company reported total revenue for 1.11 billion euros and EBITDA of 410 million euros during third quarter. Investors were upbeat after the company issued strong guidance for next quarter.
Telekom Austria informed that the company expects 3 percent increase in revenue for full year revenue. During third quarter, total revenue witnessed 2.3 percent increase.
The company has witnessed a rise in number of fixed-line subscribers. The new roaming rules applicable across the European Union have impacted revenue of telecom companies operating in EU. Consumers can roam and use data services in member states.
Telekom Austria is part of Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim's America Movil. The company is planning to roll out its home market "A1" branding across the rest of its European operations.
