According to a forecast released by research firm eMarketer on Thursday, Internet search giant will - for the second consecutive year - outperform all of its rivals combined, in the mobile ads arena in 2013.
Going by the eMarketer projections, mobile advertising will help Google generate approximately $8.8 billion in revenue this year, after the company's ad partners have been paid their commissions. The projected
2013 mobile ad revenue for Google will mark a whopping 92 percent increase over the company's 2012 mobile ad revenue figures.
Moreover, the eMarketer forecast also suggest that Google will grab a highly noteworthy 56 percent share of 2013 mobile ad sales, which are likely to touch nearly $16 billion.
In a rather distant second spot, in terms of `mobile ads sales' share, will be social network Facebook, which is projected to grab 13 percent of the market. Internet radio service Pandora and microblogging site Twitter will probably be in the third and fourth spot, with a 2.5 percent and 1.95 percent market share respectively.
Meanwhile, further predicting that Google will also apparently bring in almost $39 billion from the digital ads this year, eMarketer said in a statement: "Across all digital platforms, Google continues to reign as not only the largest beneficiary of digital ad spending in the U. S., but worldwide as well."
