There might be some tensions between the US and Israeli administrations, but military ties between the two countries are as firm as ever, experts say.
Dan Schueftan, director of Haifa University's National Security Study Center, said that the tensions between the US and Israeli administrations rarely affected military ties between the two countries.
Schueftan pointed out that the US provides cooperation and funding and gets benefited from Israeli inventions.
The US has long been pouring huge amounts of money into the Jewish state's defense programs. Most recently, Israel developed Iron Dome missile-defense system, which is the only system in the world capable of using radar-guided missiles to make short-range interceptions and shoot down rockets/missiles.
Speaking on the topic, Schueftan added, "Israel has developed the most advanced anti-ballistic system in the world, thanks to Israeli innovation and U. S. cooperation and funding. Israel then shares that technology with the American military."
US president Obama, who is on an official visit to Israel, on Wednesday also insisted on the US' commitment to the security of Israel. He claimed that military and intelligence personnel cooperation between the two countries is now firmer than ever before.
