Fitch Ratings affirms Samsung's rating at 'A+'/Stable

On the basis of its projections that Samsung Electronics will retain its top-notch spot in smartphone unit sales during the coming two-year period, Fitch Ratings has recently affirmed Samsung's rating at 'A+'/Stable.

Apple faces delay in seeking ban on US sales of Samsung tablet

Apple Inc. is faces delay in seeking ban on Samsung tablet sales in the U. S as a district judge ruled that she could not issue a preliminary injunction because the case was still before a federal court of appeals.

U. S. District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California, denied Apple’s renewed request for a ban on sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer in the country because the Washington-based Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has not issued a mandate yet.

Apple wins patent battle against Samsung in Germany

In the first ruling one of Samsung’s patent-infringement claims against Apple in Germany, Mannheim Regional Court judge Andreas Voss gave the verdict in favor of Apple.

Despite the fact that the full-detailed written ruling is yet to be made available officially, Judge Voss reported dismissed Samsung’s claims which involved EP 1,005,726; a patent which chiefly pertains to the 3G/UMTS wireless telecommunications standard.

Apple may lose patent war against Samsung in Germany

South Korean electronic giant Samsung may soon be allowed to sell its redesigned Galaxy Tab tablet in the, thanks to a German court's preliminary ruling that the redesigned tablet is not a copycat version of Apple's iPad.

Previously, the German court had ruled in favor of Apple, forcing the South Korean manufacturer to modify its Galaxy Tab 10.1 and name it Galaxy Tab 10.1N.

But, the Cupertino, Calif.-based gadget maker challenged even the redesigned version of the Galaxy Tab and requested the court for an injunction on the distribution of the devise in Germany.
