Ford Motor has produced a new one-of-a-kind Mustang model - the US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition 2014 Ford Mustang GT - which has been donated for charity by the automaker; and will be auctioned at the Experimental Air Association (EAA) AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wis., on August 1.

Ford recalling 196,500 Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans over corrosion issue

In a recent statement made during the course of a telephonic interview, Ford Motors' spokeswoman Kelli Felker revealed that nearly 196,500 of the automaker's 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans are being recalled over a corrosion issue.

Felker also said that Ford was also recalling an additional 33,500 vehicles outside the US, nearly all of them in Canada.

NHTSA to propose a rule requiring EDRs in all new light vehicles

In a Friday statement, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed that, in the coming days, it intends proposing a rule which will require all new light vehicles to have requiring event data recorders (EDRs) - devices that will be quite similar to, but a much less complex version of, the crash data-recording `black boxes' in airplanes.
