Sofia Tech Park hosts Sofia Science Festival
Sofia Science Festival is ongoing at Sofia Tech Park and the opening presentation by Nobel prize winner Professor Dan Schechtman was appreciated with visitors at the event. Bulgarian Ministry of Science and Education supports the annual event. The Sofia Science Festival was announced by the British Council and the Forum Democrit in year 2011 and has received support from education institutes in Bulgaria.
It is important to promote innovation and science. Professor Dan Schechtman presented his paper on technological entrepreneurship – key to world peace and prosperity. Among other prominent speakers, Professor Robert Winston also presented a paper on manipulated reproduction at the Sofia Science Festival.
The 2017 event has been supported by Mtel, Fibank, BASF, Microsoft and National Geographic.
The event organizing team informed, “The event features on Sofia City's Cultural Calendar and supported Sofia's bid to become European Cultural Capital in 2019. The Sofia Science Festival is a founding member of the Bulgarian Festivals Association.”
For this year's festival, 65 events have been planned. Entry to most of the events is free but there is an entrance fee of 5 leva for each participant.
