iPhone 8 won’t be delayed: Report
Apple generally unveils new iPhones in or around September and there will be no delay in the launch of the next-generation line of the widely-acclaimed devices, Chinese-language newspaper Economic Daily News reported.
The report turned down speculations that volume production of next-generation iPhones would be delayed to the final quarter of 2017. In others words, those speculations suggested that the original launch schedule of August-September wouldn’t be followed this year.
The report also suggested that upstream to downstream suppliers in the global iPhone supply chains are prepared to boost related iPhone parts starting June 2017.
The list of suppliers includes Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), battery supplier Simplo Technology, and substrate-like PCB manufacturers Zhen Ding Technology and Kinsus Interconnect Technology.
TSMC will reportedly start to fabricate the wafer starts that are required for the production of a11 processes on 10th of June. Their delivery into the chips is expected to start in the second half of July.
Meanwhile, iPhone assemblers Pegatron, Foxconn Electronics and Winstron are preparing to accelerate the recruitment and training of new workers in their Chinese facilities to cope with potential strong demand for the new iPhones.
