Synek launches Kickstarter campaign for SOMM wine dispenser
On April 7, 2016, Synek launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for a wine dispenser called SOMM. Synek has earlier, in 2014, successfully crowdfunded and manufactured a countertop beer dispenser.
The Kickstarter campaign for SOMM wine dispenser will end on May 10, 2016. The backers of the campaign have to pledge $100 or more to have the sleek wine dispenser delivered to them by Christmas this year. The project retail cost of the wine dispenser, when it hits the market, is $299.
The targeted goal of Synek's Kickstarter campaign for the SOMM wine dispenser is $100,000. According to reports, the company has already, within less than a week of the launch of the campaign, successfully raised more than $57,000 crowdfunding for the wine dispenser.
The SOMM wine dispenser is shaped like a box; with its design fairly similar to Synek's beer dispenser. The bottles, which are installed on the front door of the machine, have a container-like shape and are called sylo.
Each sylo has a 2.5-liter capacity; thereby enabling it to hold wine equal to three standard bottles. According to Synek, the container-like sylo bottles are also integrated with a chip which has the capability to calculate the temperature required by a particular wine.
