HTC unveils selfie-centric ‘Desire Eye’ handset
Taiwanese device manufacturer HTC has recently unveiled its newest smartphone --- a selfie-centric handset called the 'Desire Eye.'
Though the details about the availability, price point, carrier list, and launch date of the new 'Desire Eye' handset are still to be officially announced by HTC, the handset will likely be an enticing device for photography buffs, especially because a high-profile front camera is one of its key attractions.
According to reports, the new 'Desire Eye' smartphone introduced by HTC is chiefly about the lenses --- it features a 13-megapixel camera on the front as well as on the back. Both cameras boast a back-illuminated sensor (BSI), and dual LED flash; and are capable of recording in 1080p. The front camera of the HTC Desire Eye handset has an f/2.2 aperture and 22mm lens; while the rear camera has an f/2.0 aperture and a 28mm lens.
Other than the attractive cameras, some of the other noteworthy features of the plastic-body Desire Eye handset include the Snapdragon 801 processor from Qualcomm; 2GB of RAM; a 2400mAh battery; and 16GB of onboard storage capacity, expandable up to 128GB via a microSD slot.
The Desire Eye run Android OS version 4.4.4; and it is also equipped with proximity, accelerometer, gyro and ambient light sensors. The handset will be available in two different multi-color looks --- with one option featuring red and white color combination, and the other alternative being a two-tone blue.
