Do not recall the tongue twister, Forget Peter Piper and his Peck of Pickled Pepper. Now, scientists have found a new twister. The new tongue twister could be the most annoying tongue twister of the world.

The new phrase is 'pad kid poured curd pulled cold'.

Volunteers taking part in a U. S. speech study were asked to utter the phrase 10 times and that too very quickly. As per lead researcher, Dr. Stefanie Shattuck-Hufnagel, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, many of the contestants clammed up and stopped talking altogether.

She told that anyone who could speak the phrase for 10 times would get a prize.

The tongue twister study was presented at the yearly meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in San Francisco. The study was conducted to throw light on speech-planning processes of the brain.

Dr. Shattuck-Hufnagel says, "When things go wrong, that can tell you something about how the typical, error-free operation should go".

Two classes of tongue twisters were studied by the scientists. These were: simple lists of paired words, such as 'top cop' and whole sentences.

They observed that in the word list tongue twisters there was a predominance of 't'kop' type errors. On the other hand, sentences that produced more 'tah-kop' mistakes consisted of a short vowel after the first consonant.
