Proposal for Ban on Smoking in Car Carrying Children Out for Public Consultation
It has been said a number of times that smoking in the car carrying children is injurious for children as well. Proposal has been made to ban such kind of smoking in the car.
For now, it has been revealed that the idea has been backed by health activists, doctors and politicians. The Scottish Parliament has put forth the proposal as per which the smoking in the car carrying children should be banned.
Those who will be caught breaking the rule will be asked to pay fines. Canada and Australia are some of the countries, which follow such kind of rule. Lib Dem MSP Jim Hume is the one, who has made the proposal, has affirmed that he has been receiving a lot of support.
It shall be noted that the proposal is open for public consultation till 30 August. The Scottish Government said that it is committed to raise awareness about harms that are caused due to passive smoking.
"British Heart Foundation Scotland believes a ban on smoking in cars when children are present is urgently needed. It's great to see Jim Hume leading the fight to protect children's health", reveals a research carried out by the University of Aberdeen.
